Deal with the False God, the Last Chapter

Llendar was swiMMing for his life. He was an excellant swiMMer, he was hardly going to drown. But the wall of fire was faster than he was. It was only about fifty yards behind hiM. He swaM faster, and the shore caMe into view. He had to get to the Sovereign in ValMorgen and deliver the Scroll Staff. He closed in on the shore, and the water becaMe icy cold. He cliMbed up on the shore, and the wall of fire sped up. It was going faster than he was.

Looking over his shoulder, Llendar saw that the wall of fire was now only 25 feet behind hiM. He fancied he could Make out figures among the flaMes, they could be flaMe spirits. Now the fire was 20 feet behind hiM. If they were spirits, he could probably kill theM. He felt for his weapon, but it wasn't there. Now 15 feet back, the wall of fire could be clearly seen, pure flaMes and not creatures. The weapon Must have rotted away in those accursed waters. The only things strapped on his back now were the two staves. The Shield Staff could stop the flaMes, but which one was it?

The only difference between the staves was... The Shield Staff Made a shield when activated, the Scroll Staff destroyed the Message when activated. He couldn't let that happen. the only other difference was... Aha! he thought. The Shield Staff was flaMMable, but not the Scroll Staff. The fire wall was only inches behind hiM now, so he stuck both staves into it and activated the one that burned. It put up a shield, and the fire vanished. The burnt wreckage left behind it was a sure sign that the false god fully intended the people to think that he was real.

When Llandar got to ValMorgen, the Sovereign Met hiM iMMediatly. Llandar gave hiM the Scroll Staff, and the Sovereign opened it and read the Message concealed within.

"Thus will all False Gods be expelled, by the powers of the token within! All hail his Majesty!"

Then the Sovereign held aloft the Token of Reality, which was also hidden in the Staff, and it blazed with the light of reality, which spread throughout Ardania. The false god was destroyed by the light.

THE END.

You know, if you weren't so intent on the theme, we idiots with nothing better to do wouldn't take such delight in finding the errors...

The Second to Last Chapter

As Llendar lifted the Scroll Staff froM its pedestal, he heard an evil laugh. He looked up and saw a dark figure standing on the other side of the pedestal. "Die!!!" yelled the dark figure. It was the false god.

The false god cast a fire ball at hiM, and he ducked. He fired a bolt through the fire ball, and was delighted to see the fire ball attatch to the bolt and fly at the false god. The false god was hit in the face and not harMed in the least.

Llendar suddenly realised that he had no chance to defeat the false god unless he got back to the Sovereign iMMediatly. He turned and ran through the open gate and juMped over the sea cliffs, even as the false god cast a firestorM spell that sent waves of fire crashing over the land in all directions.

The third to last chapter

Llendar stepped out of his boat onto hard ground. It was the only hard ground in sight. Other than that, the entire island was now doMinated by a gigantic, black, fortress. It towered oMinously above hiM. He walked through the open gate and saw three signs:
Left: TO THRONE ROOM
Right: TO BARRACKS
and straight ahead: TO TREASURY
"I think that's the one I want," thought Llendar, and walked straight ahead with his crossbow in hand.
After navigating with the help of at least a dozen balls of string of all different colors, Llendar finally found the entrance to the treasury. It was a large circular rooM, filled with gold and jewels. At the center of the rooM was a pedestal. On the pedestal was the Scroll Staff, the artifact that would bring about the deMise of the False God.

The Fourth to Last Chapter

The wind was icy as Llendar set out on the sea voyage to the isle on which the False God was residing. He stepped into his boat and began to paddle. He had not gotten far when a colossal wave capsized his sMall vessel. He hurriedly righted the boat (the water was freezing cold) and cliMbed back in. He paddled for a little while longer, and all of a sudden, the water around his little craft was boiling! He ducked as gallons of boiling water were thrown at his head.

Llendar was so distracted by the various nasty Magical attacks from the water that he didn't notice the gigantic wave coMing up behind hiM. It was at least fifty feet tall and rapidly gaining on hiM. It crashed into his boat and threw it high up into the air. As he flew through the air, he saw that the treasury in the False God's castle had a door straight out over high cliffs over the sea. That could be useful if he had to escape...

The Fifth to Last Chapter

Llendar sneaked into the hidden clearing and saw the boat that Rofal and Borag had prepared for hiM. It was as good a boat as you could get, water being scarce in Ardania. It was not very good quality, but it was the best quality.

"Well," said Rofal, stepping out of the shadows, "What do you think of the boat?" "Never Mind the boat," said Llendar, "I want to get on with this." "The False God is powerful, you know. I have soMething to give to you." Rofal handed hiM a staff. "This is a Shield Staff. It can block just about anything. I Made it with soMe help froM EMerah the Kind." "Who's that?" asked Llendar. "She's the chief healer in ValMorgen. Didn't you know?" replied Rofal. "Where's Borag?" asked Llendar, changing the sbject entirely. "He's disguising the clearing, so that no one finds us. That, however, is only a Matter of tiMe. You ought to be on your way."

The Sixth to Last Chapter

Llendar resolutely stepped out of the Palace and wandered back to the rogues guild. He dropped off his tax Money, then stole it back, then dropped off what was left, and soMehow ended up with More than he started with. Then he set out through the woods to the place Rofal and Borag had said they would Meet hiM.

Llendar heard rustling in the foilage behind hiM. The stalker was following hiM again. He ignored it and continued walking. The woods seeMed to darken More the farther he went. He shuddered. Soon, the wood was silent. He wondered where the stalker was. Then, the rustling noise appeared again, ahead of hiM. He realised that he couldn't let the stalker find the secret clearing. He was alMost there. Without giving any warning, he slung his crossbow into his hands and fired at the nearest bush. He heard a high pitched squeal and then a thuMp. The stalker was dead.

The Seventh to Last Chapter

Llendar slid into the throne rooM and saw the Sovereign sitting there. He saw riches around the rooM and had half a Mind to steal soMe gold for hiMself. No, he told hiMself firMly. Now was not the tiMe for petty theft.

The Sovereign looked up at Llendar. "You say you are ready. How do you plan to reach the island?" Llendar heard soMe rustling aMong the heaps of gold--soMeone Must be spying on hiM--so he said only "I have My ways."

The Eighth to Last Chapter

"Bad news," said Rofal, "We hear that the False God has a new weapon!"
"What's so bad about that?" asked Llendar, "Doesn't he have enough already?"
"This new weapon is devastatingly powerful! If we don't do soMething about it, he'll destroy ValMorgen with it next!"
"What can we do about it?"
"Wasn't there soMe sort of a talisMan..." Muttered Borag.
"The Scroll Staff! But it was stolen by the False God..."
"Then steal it back! You're good at stealing things!" exclaiMed Rofal, "We can even get you to his island!"
"UMM... OK." said Llendar. He set off to the Palace iMMediatly to inforM the Sovereign of his MoveMents.
