|Treebark's roots slithered out over the earth and took hold, dragging the leader toward his grove. Bushbark and Grassbark were waiting for him.
Bushbark said, "Finally, old friend, you grace us with your presence."
"Hmmm, I was busy, trees are good at waiting."
"Yes," said Grassbark, "We are good at waiting. Why have we been called to awaken after all these long years? We are older by far than these, Cultists, why do we care for them?"
"Silence! You, hmm, we shall all speak of them with respect! Fervus, older even than I, has demanded that we aid the Cultists." said Treebark.
"There was peace before they came here! Look!" Grassbark held out a limb, "Fire and axe did this! You know how long it takes scars such as this to heal. They do not deserve us."
Treebark thought a moment before answering, "No, they do not. And that makes our gift all the more wondrous. You shall treat the wounds recieved this day as badges of honour. They mark us all as warriors. At dawn we follow the Cultists. We follow because we choose to, not because we must."
Bushbark, who had been quiet for some time, now spoke,"Dawn is good."
"Yes," Grassbark agreed,"Dawn is good. Even if nothing else is."
Treebark was dissappointed with the sullen attitude of Grassbark, but they were bound to the Cultists. At dawn they marched towards destiny.
