Majesty: The sovereign suggestion!

Origin of idea:
In majesty, folks always say:
“Your majesty, our new building is complete!” or
“Your highness, we improved the guardhouse!”
Ok, that is enough to prove that the player act the role of the Sovereign (Obviously)

It’s very sad that the concept of the sovereign is not clear in Majesty™
The reason for this is the king has never appeared in the game.
Can king do any thing more then sitting in palace and putting reward and casting spells?
In nearly all fantasy stories,
King is an always a great hero aside a great leader!

Reason Of idea:
All players want to scream at heroes when their market is under attack by troll
When a 10th level wizard is fleeing!
Some players really want to kick monsters themselves,
When a rat man steal 3000 gold from market.

Description Of idea:

1.
The sovereign has two modes: Ruler or Hero
This can be down by a button on the top of the screen
When the king is in ruler mode, it’s same as the game’s current states

Before game start, instead choose player force,
Player can choose King’s character type, each type are specialized,
Have advantage and disadvantage
King character type below (examples, can’t list all):

Wizard – 20th level wizard with all spells when starting
Start with 1st wizard guild, castle, a library and 2 wizard towers.
Every time, when wizard guild is upgraded,
King gains 5 levels, and when castle upgrade, king also gains 5 levels.
So, without “King Hunting” or other silly things
In the end, King will have 20+10+10 = 40 levels, enough to beat any others
Special: palace guards are 2 wizards

Paladin – 20th level paladin with shield of light when starting
Start with temple to a temple to Dauros, castle, a Warrior guild, and a blacksmith
Every time, when temple to Dauros is upgraded, king also gains 10 levels.
So, without “King Hunting” or other silly things
In the end, King will have 20+20 = 40 levels, enough to beat any others
Special: palace guards are 2 paladins

Worrier – 40th level worrier with full upgrade in weapon and armor, +3/+3
Start with 4 worrier guilds, castle, and a blacksmith
Every time, when castle upgrades, the king also gains 15 levels.
So, without “King Hunting” or other silly things
In the end, King will have 40+30 = 70 levels, enough to beat any others
Special: palace guards are 4 warriors

2.
Hero stat of a King:
When a player decided to change to Hero mode or palace is nearly destroyed
The Player will change to Hero mode:
The vision will not change; it will be the current view from above,
But control panel will be changed,
Player is able to see the Character of king from above highlighted.
The game became a RPG like Diablo (In Majesty World)
You will have Spell power and health on the button of the screen,
And spell list like the normal Majesty spell list plus the character spell list.
King can recover spell power and health slowly.
And a very special key – “Summon Palace”
You are able to use this only when your palace get knocked out …
It will give you a brand new 1st level palace as long as it takes all spell power off.
In Hero mode, you can’t reward and build any more.
But you are able to have ability to:
1 unite – obviously, this ability is used for making all hero defend you.
2 excite – all heroes in a radius around go in rampage.
3 organize – will be able set enemy attack target without paying anything.
4 fight & move – obvious

3
Adjustment:
Game lose will be losing the king instead losing palace
All money kings make will be directly enter “Royal treasury"
(I can’t find a difference between king’s pocket money and national treasure…)

Predict:
This will make a lot of fan; even need more advice, once the idea is completed and taken.
We can kick a troll, which everyone is fleeing from
Also, we can go “King hunting” if kingdom is alright (Meet a dragon will be bad luck)

I have restrained on commenting on Cooker's idea when it was first posted (happens to be online the same time), because Cooker may think I have something personal against him since I disagree on his many ideas.

Sometimes players love some games so much that they wanted a game to encompass all the 'wonderful' features he/she likes in other games. That will not happen. I don't like the idea of possessing hero, (go play DK if you want that), I detest the starting level of the king even more!

Having a king (which is wizard) at 20th level from start? I may not have played the game much, but for the hundreds of games which I played, when my wizard reached any level above 10, they rarely die (not counting resurrection). To have a wizard king at 20th level in the begining is to me the same as to have the king at 10000th level at start. It simply makes no difference.

Want Diablo? Buy Diablo.

This is Majesty.

And if you haven't guessed by now, I hate the idea.

I think your idea's to complex. They should make a unit, but make it simplier, maybe a controlable one, THE ONLY CONTROLABLE ONE, if not brave or smart enought to attack the dragon or rock golem after it goes after your market. Think of it like, you are the majesty, why not have a unit for your self. He can be waek or strong, and bringing him out of the castle at the wrong time could me mean our death.

Thanks for your opinions everyone!
I read every post carefully.

I said, I came with a design, it don’t have to be working
– No designs work at the first time.
A design is never perfect, and always has disadvantages.
Don’t shout so loud “No” at the beginning,
I ask for what is good, and what is not good,
I didn’t ask “should we put this in the game now?”

Asterisk:
I really don’t like you way to speak – no respect!
Every time is sharp and harmful, and awfully gainsays every idea!

Greystar:
This Idea is made for Fun!
You can wander around your OWN Town; buy things from you OWN people
The felling is different from playing DIABLO!
I see that, the role of king makes player can do some quick decision when things go wrong:
“A rat man is in near your market”
Thanks for remain me “King Rush” – build market, healing potion and attack, very terrible:
Adjustment is done:
King start at level 10, If that can stop king rush …

FFDREAM:
This Idea that I made is going to be fun, if can be corrected
The game will give you really the felling of king,
Unique to any other game:
Attacking with your heroes
Hunting in forest
Buying item from your own people

Aquila:
Say why you hate my idea?

LegoGawd:
Thanks, same to you …
I will think as I can to help the game.

When someone comes up with a bad idea, it's my Majestyic duty as a Majesty Player to tell them.

I don't hate you
I do hate stupidity
Go think!

Sir Petros:

Open the lock in your brain about concept of majesty…

More fun it’s, better it’s.
Well here –

The only problem with that, Cooker, is that the designers had a very specific goal in mind when they created majesty. It isn't an rpg. Some of the rpg's due out later this year will offer the kind of thing you are looking for. but if we create a "king" character, what would be the point of even having heroes? a good player would be able to take care of everything with just a few guards and the king, thus defeating the entire premise of the game.

SirPetros:

All types of games are created for making fun. All of them are fun.
It doesn’t matter what type of game majesty will became after adding the “King’s hero mode”.
As long as it makes fun, it will be a good game.

I have nothing to say about the method that uses king as main role of defeating entire quest.
It’s another way to make fun!
King hero mode actually gives more freedom to players.
It makes players can choose to go more strategic way or more heroic way.
Of cause, the two methods have to be balanced.

How does it look to have the KING wandering around the town in the open.
He would get mauled by his adoring public, (or assanited if they don't like him.)
Also, how good a job are the guards dooing if you die?

I have just said that king’s hero mode gives player a FREEDOM to switch between a RST and a RPG.
That doesn’t mean that you have to get out of your castle and wonder about all the time.
Generally leaving castle constantly will do nothing but mess up your kingdom.

Even King is directly under your control as a role in RPG unite, excite and organize can still make this game quite different from other RPGs.

(Unite, Excite and Organize) have been described in the first post.

I think King’s Hero Mode will indeed make a lot of fun:

- Challenge and Adventure in the world built by yourself
- Conquer the darkness with your epic heroes
- Dominate a Fantasy kingdom in your own way –
To be a hero that recorded in epic, or a bright sun that shine over the entire realm
