Well, after scanning through the Wish List, I find that the three most wanted features (apart from Scenario Builder, which has its own petition for sign here: "Scenario Builder Petition") are:
(1) Larger Map
(2) An (or more) additional level(s) of zoom for the main screen (esp. zoom out)
(3) Computer controlled enemy kingdom in freestyle.

I find it surprising no one has started a petition for it. In view of the annoucement of the Northern Expansion, well, I think we better start one fast so that Cyberlore can gauge just how wanted these features are and can include them in the expansion set (along with the scenario builder, of-course!).

Hence, this is the official petition to the wonderful game developers in Cyberlore from the players of Majesty:

We, the Majesty gamers, would really like to see the following features included in the expansion set:

(1) Larger Map

(2) Additional levels of zooming for the main screen

(3) Computer controlled enemy kingdom in freestyle.

Thanks for listening.

this is exactly what majesty needs!

ai enemies would make the game so much better, and larger maps are a necessity.
good to know you guys are listening.

thanks for starting a petition, too.
good idea. i've been posting those same ideas around, but a petition is the way to go.

Jay - does that mean if it doesn't appear in the expansion that there's a really good shot for majesty 2?

Question: if there are larger maps in the expansion, will balance be addressed?

I'm already having problems with the present large maps. I can only have six peasants. They'd have to rush from the edge of the map to an outpost in the middle just to repair a ballista tower. Then they have to rush back to save another tower before a dragon fries it. Then they run back to the outpost to rebuild a ballista tower battered by a Rock Golem. Dwarves aren't helpful - they'd rather earn gold or bash monsters. And they're slow.

Larger maps mean having to put a outpost inn, to encourage heroes to explore further. Every once in a while, that inn will get destroyed unless I put some defences, which can get destroyed. I could end up with a kingdom full of sewer entrances!

Just my opinions.

(Oh, yes, I'm too lazy to micromanage the repair once and repair always buttons.)

Hmmm... what Apple say is with merit. Maybe with a larger map, we need a new building to compliment it. I proposed a "Kingdom Outpost" which main objective is for kingdom expansion. It has Guard Tower capbility plus the additional benefit of producing peasants. Since this is for expansion purposes, it must lie outside a distance radius from the palace (and any other outpost). hmm... sounds like trading post to me... maybe make it a trading post upgrade!

definatley 1 and 3, maybe 2... a bit of a luxury, although it could be necessary with a larger map!

Heehee, why don't you start a petition forcing/coercing Jay to reveal all the new features on the expansion?

A follow-up on the Expansion in Larger-Map:

I proposed a "Kingdom Outpost" which main objective is for kingdom expansion. It has Guard Tower capbility plus the additional benefit of producing peasants. Since this is for expansion purposes, it must lie outside a distance radius from the palace (and any other outpost). It can also produce one tax collector and perhaps two Outpost Guards. The peasants, gaurds and tax collector from one outpost will only gaurd/repair/collect-tax from building near the proximity of the
kingdom outpost. This makes the Kingdom Outpost sort of like a county-magistrate office (like a mini-palace), hehee, call the gaudrs magistrate guards then! The tax collected dosen't automatically go to the Kingdom treasury. It needs to be transported via caravan to the Palace.

This makes it a bit like the trading post: with the caravan and the outside-a-certain-radius distance apart limit. It can thus be an upgrade to the trading post (say when palace reach third level).

Well, the actual implementation of this is of-course at the discrete of Cyberlore. I just want a similar building which serve for Kingdom-expansion purpose. Call it anything you want (town-hall? Fortress?), have any number of peasants/guards/taxcollector you want. JUST GIVE ME THE BUILDING!

agree whole-heartedly, for larger maps there is definately going to be a need of outposts for your peasants and tax collectors. there of course would have to be a way to discern your taxable buildings close to your outpost from the ones close to your palace. id hate to see my tax collector or my peasants walking (er, crawling as it seems) all the way from my palace to tax, repair, or build a building which is closer to one of my outposts. i leave the details of how to exactly implement this into the game up to the masterminds of cyberlore.

as for the caravans i cant say im with ya on that. sounds good but id hate to see a far out outpost lose a sizable amount of my money because of the many monsters along the way. i realize this is how the trading post works but for them they generate more gold the farther away they are to compensate for the danger, whilst an outpost would generate a fixed amount of income regardless of the distance (just whatever was taxed from the nearby buildings). now maybe if this outpost caravan could be escorted by a hired hand (maybe an upgrade option at the outpost) then this wouldnt be TOO bad an idea. the escort wouldnt have to be anything too flashy of course, just say a horseman with an m-47.

That's nuts! If your M47 is the M47 I'm thinking about, it's not suitable. M47 may be effective on Rock Golems, but not for a bunch of goblins or oversized rats.
