Here's the scoop on the Solarii:

A Solarus (plural is Solarii) is a worshiper of the sun goddess Helia. Their principal weapon is an enormous spiked mace, representative of the sun they worship. Their faith gives them access to firey spells, defensive and offensive. Solarii will adventure, but will also patrol your city, stopping in at guardhouses.

Plus, they all look like Iman (the model and wife of David Bowie) in go-go boots.

Two Words... HOLY HELL!!!!!

I've just finished up what I believe is the last mission, and my head HURTS...

For those people that want to play with EVERYTHING, just wait til the end... you do get 1 mission that allows for that... Without going into too much detail, that last mission is a PAIN IN THE A$$!!!! Took me about 3-4 hours to make it thru it, and you will spend more $$$ ressurecting your hero's than you will spend on ANYTHING else... GREAT GAME... I'm looking forward to sleeping tonite... I've not been to bed since I started playing yesterday afternoon, and this game is INTENSE...

BTW, the phantoms SUCK!!!!

As far as favorite hero goes, I had a mage at the end of that last mission, level 80 I believe it was... and he tore up everything (cept phantoms)

Personaly, I'm a big fan of the death priestesses. Besides the obvious appeal of the "hot death worshiping babe," they have quite a few cool plusses. Their skeleton buddies are great, essentialy making each unit you recuit two. At level 2 of their temple, you can give everyone a skeleton buddy. Since one of their main spells is life draining, they tend to be able to stay alive a bit easier as well.

Although i do have to say that the gnomes seem to be the most useful of the races, closely followed by dwarves, and can anyone give a good reason for elves?

My favourite so far are the Gnomes. They work harder and faster that the peasants, and they also help to fight the bad guys.

I always liked wizards I always tend not to make many of them because often they do not last until a semi-high level. Plus, at levels 1-20, I swear I only see them fleeing in terror. I must admit though, the damage they rack up pleases me enough. I also like the stick-weilding-religion-people. What are they called?

I'm off to play, I can't wait till tomorrow, zone will finally get majesty working. I guess I'll have to play AC or AoE II in the meantime

Reply to Elves question.

Gnomes Build. Dwarves Defend. Elves make money. All are more or less useful depending on your strategy. A rush (lowend) strategy makes best use of Gnomes. An "economic" strategy (lots of highend units) makes best use of Elves. I am rather fond of the dwarves/middle-unit strategy (Priestess/Cultists/Dwarves is a very nice mix indeed)

Agree w/the priestess/cultists/dwarves comments. The first two are great producers, but they lack that toughness that the dwarves bring. Dwarves are a perfect complement to that route.

WOD because they are funny and brave(or to stupid to run).also cultists because they have the ability to charm the monster and make them on your team.

Really? I've never messed much with elves, but it seems that they would have the opposite effect.. since you get no money from their casinos or lounges, and heroes spend their cash and time there, it wouild seem to have quite the opposite effect to me.
