Pros-
1)Their arrows do heavyer damage then ranger's. (I think so)

2)They boost money in your marketplace by 50%

3)They move fast

4)they don't follow your opponent's bounty

(not many pros!)

Cons-

1)they die easily

2)They give yoou gambling halls and elven lounges.

3)They're expensive like the dwarves.

4)They only come in 2 per bungalow.

5)They don't have a very good magic resist.

"Long live the Elves!"

Pro:

5) You can set patrol routes for them with Inns, Marketplaces and Trading Posts.

6) Long range attack (not as long as the Rangers', but long enough).

I've found that Elves are great if you need the money. As heroes, they seem a combination of the rogue and the ranger. As enemies, well, my paladins chopped those pointy-ears up quickly.

i personally think the lounges and gambling halls are pros, not cons.

seriously, they are as greedy as the rogue, making them good explorers, and as apple stated, theyll visit the outlying buildings so long as there is an inn out there.

another con - their voicelines.

Hey, if I ruled a kingdom I'd make sure there was plenty of, uh, "alternative recreation" around town- gotta keep the citizens happy

another con - their voicelines

I dunno, I kinda like the "Refreshing!" Makes me laugh, don't know why.

I personally go for gnomes because of their speed at building...
but as for Elves, except for the 2 per Bungalow, they're pretty good to have in your kingdom. As stated, they increase income and like that one guy said... they can make you laugh, which to me is always a pro. I personally think they're a lot better than Dwarves. Sure, Dwarves have ballistic defenses and can build, but they're slow, slow and slow. And in a sense, they're better than Gnomes, sure gnomes are fast and are great builders, also you can't kill they're den, but they lack tremenduosly in combat ability.
Oky, pros and cons...
Elves have range, smart enough to use healing potions and I personally like their voicelines.
Only 2 per bungalow.

Actually the gnome's speed at building was lowered when you installed 1.3.

I go for dwarves cause of their ballista towers, and cause the elven lounges and gambling halls are just plain annoying. Although they do provide an alternate form of income- hehe!

Um, I'm pretty sure that the lounges and gambling halls are not taxed by your kingdom. That's why they're a DOWNSIDE of having elves (unless you mean actually gambling in the halls).

I meant through the gambling in the gambling halls. I've gotten a fair amount of gold that way...

Money. Money. Money. Lots of it.
And they learn spells at higher levels - useful in Monstrous Horde.

Fwahahaha!

Elves suck. Dwarves rule. A dwarf with Winged Feet is unstoppable, especially with Priestess and Cultist backup.

Fwahahaha! Three Cheers for Fervus!

Um, no a dwarf with winged feet is not unstoppable. Even with that backup if he attacked a full temple to daurous he'd have 4 monks to give him a quick death, not to mention any paladins that would come rushing to the scene to help.
