I'm currently trying to pinpoint all of the locations currently selling Majesty though downloadable means. I know that all of the TryMedia affiliates currently have it, but I was wondering if there was anybody else selling a downloadable version of Majesty - Especially outside of the US (as I would have a harder time doing a Google search in other languages).

If you know of anyplace selling Majesty online - and they aren't a trymedia affiliate (check the link for the download and if it includes the words "trymedia" in the URL then they are a part of that network) please post a link here.

Thanks!

http://www.acid-play.com/download-trial/majesty/
http://games.canada.com/game/aff=t_03st/vid=18f961b017db972f43f2d3464a252706

I think the links:
http://www.gameavenue.com/strategy/majesty.htm
http://games.canada.com/game/aff=t_03st/vid=18f961b017db972f43f2d3464a252706
http://www.download-free-games.com/war_game_download/majesty.htm

are all Try Media affiliates.

Actually I think they all are the Try Media servers because the others have tmsrv.com as part of the name.

found this one(trymedia):
http://gr.bolt.com/download/pc/strategy/majesty.htm

and this one, not sure here:

btw, I did google page 11-20

edit: and on 21 to 40 I found:

http://au.games.yahoo.com/downloads/game.html?pid=18f961b017db972f43f2d3464a252706

I don't know if that one's trymedia, but this one is:

http://www.3djoe.com/arcade/trymedia/majesty.html

Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure it isn't sold by download in the Netherlands. (or by a Dutch site, anyway)

And a quick check shows all those are Try Media servers (tmsrv.com).

I'm surprised at all the sites that are just Try Media store fronts.

TryMedia and others have an interesting business model. They license a bunch of games and provide the infrastructure to sell them online. Then they license out to others to build websites. It's an interesting idea and seems to work - at least for TryMedia since their affiliates seem to be all over the place.

My own efforts netted a couple of other places that had Majesty as well.

Thanks for the help.

BTW - Just so that you know what I wanted this info for:

We recently reacquired ALL rights to Majesty from Atari. This means that now we can negotiate contracts with people like TryMedia who want to continue selling them game through online outlets. I just wanted to double-check that we were aware of any place that was currently selling it so that we could tell them who to send the royalty checks to.. Smile

Majesty is being immortalised, I see.
Whose idea was it originally? Cyberlore or Atari?

Trying to imagine how Jay convinced Atari to give back ALL Majesty rights... with accompanying sound effects...

Now, doesn't this mean that it will be easier to find a publisher, since Atari won't have any more say in anything? Just guessing...

The original idea to sell the game via download is Atari's. We see no reason to stop it so we're actually changing the currently available title (Majesty) to the latest version (Majesty Gold).

As for whether or not it makes it easier for us to get the sequel going.. I assume it will. Of course, since The Northern Expansion came out they really only had first right of refusal on any project. Essentially, if we found another interested party to publish Atari had the right to look over the deal and decide whether or not they would rather publish it (and if not we were free to go with another publisher). None of the people we ever talked to in the past ever balked at that - at least not to us - so I don't know how much of a difference not having to worry about that matters. It does mean that we don't ever have to ask anybody elses permission to make a deal.

Is that something that's easy to strike from a software publishing contract? I know people do it sometimes with book contracts.
